HOW CAN WE EXIST WITHOUT HARMING THOSE AROUND US?
Art is my sanctuary - a sacred space of emotional release and the human process, reaching externally as a means of communication to translate an intimate message that I do not always possess the vocabulary to express.
My creativity is inextricably tied to my connection between myself and the earth, with the intent of my art to fold back the layers to reveal what lies beneath. My goal is to evoke an internal reaction and a self-reflexive response within the viewer. I strive to depict the experienced world of emotions, feelings, and the pain we universally face as human beings of the Anthropocene.
I play with color and form for impressionistic effect, often in soft, colorful, and whimsical ways. Conversely, some works are meticulous and painstakingly detailed, traditionally representational, or adaptations of existing “found media”. I enjoy layering symbolism through iconography and concepts of motion, illusion, and visually striking elements of form and color that engages with the metaphysical, emotional, and spiritual self, while alluding to the body and physical world.
